On 8 May 2025, we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, our nation will unite to celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe. VE Day 80 is not only a tribute to those who fought for freedom but also a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity that have defined our country ever since.
This year the village is joining in the celebrations on the 8th May with a beacon to join part of the National Beacon as well as having a party on the Village Green on 10th May. To find out more click on the relevant links below.
Newnham is a small village located in the county of Northamptonshire, just south of Daventry, situated on the banks of the River Nene and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The village name is thought to derive from Anglo Saxon meaning, however it could also mean 'At the new homestead/village' or 'at the new hemmed-in land'.
